PURPOSE OF POSITION
To work as a team member caring for and administering the daily needs to pigs in all phases of Wean to ensure optimum productivity. This person will assist where needed working with animals and light facility repair and maintenance following department and company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Care and management of animals to ensure that: Animals are properly fed. Water is available. Observation of all animals daily and ensuring sick animals are properly treated. Overall animal conditions are evaluated and maintained. Follow proper steps for timely euthanasia and be able to identify when it is needed. Timely removal of mortality and bio secure handling and storage at site Timely and responsible administration of medications and vaccinations according to ISF protocols Care and management of facilities to ensure that: Fans, curtains, heaters and other equipment are working properly. Ventilation equipment is adjusted to provide proper environment. Facilities are kept clean, including auditing power washing, disinfection, tear down and set up of barns. Maintain accurate records using ISF forms and protocols. Communicate health condition of the pigs, facility maintenance needs, feed issues, environmental issues to Supervisor Proper handling of chemicals (storage and application). Move animals using safe handling practices. Receive, sort, and pen incoming animals

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The environment you will be working in may have nuisance levels of gases and dust, particularly in the winter months
PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Ability to read and write. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds along with climbing up ladders and over gates. The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week. Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges. Weekend and holiday rotations are a requirement.
