Grooming Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Grooming Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, providing support to our grooming professionals while ensuring the comfort and safety of pets in our care. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized grooming environment, assisting with various grooming tasks, and fostering positive relationships with both pets and their owners. Responsibilities Assist groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing pets to ensure they are clean and well-groomed. Help in the preparation of grooming tools and equipment, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use. Provide basic animal care, including feeding, walking, and monitoring the health of pets. Maintain a clean grooming area by regularly cleaning surfaces, tools, and equipment. Support the handling and restraint of animals during grooming procedures to ensure their safety. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's needs and any special instructions from the groomer. Observe animals for any signs of distress or health issues and report findings to the groomer or veterinary staff as necessary. Requirements Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred; experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician is a plus. Knowledge of dog training techniques or equine care is advantageous. Familiarity with grooming practices and animal restraint methods is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with pets and their owners. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Physical stamina to handle lifting, standing for long periods, and managing active animals. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
