Kennel Technician

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel facility
• Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
• Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
• Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
• Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
• Provide basic training and socialization for animals
• Interact with customers and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior

Qualifications:

• Previous experience handling dogs in a professional setting preferred
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Knowledge of pet care practices, including feeding, exercise, grooming, and basic training
• Familiarity with kennel operations and procedures
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working with animals of various sizes and temperaments
• Basic understanding of veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus
