Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and husbandry for animals in the facility, including feeding, watering, and cleaning
- Monitor and record animal behavior, health, and welfare
- Maintain accurate records of animal care
- Provide exercise and enrichment activities for animals
- Assist with training and socialization of animals
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of animal housing areas
Requirements:
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively, including dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in dog training or behavior modification techniques
- Familiarity with pet care/animal shelter industry standards
