Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Pet Groomer, where your passion for animals and grooming expertise will shine! In this energetic role, you'll provide top-notch grooming services that enhance the health, hygiene, and appearance of pets. Your dedication will ensure every pet leaves feeling happy, comfortable, and looking their best. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with animals and pet owners alike, fostering trust and delivering exceptional care. Experience and proper schooling are required. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling for a variety of dog breeds and other small animals Assess each pet's coat condition and skin health to determine appropriate grooming techniques and products Handle animals safely and gently using proper restraint techniques to ensure comfort and prevent injury Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming station, tools, and equipment to uphold health standards Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs, special instructions, and aftercare advice Assist with basic dog training or behavioral guidance when needed to facilitate grooming sessions Support veterinary staff with animal handling or care tasks as required during grooming or in the kennel area Skills Strong animal handling skills with experience in pet grooming, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques Knowledge of veterinary procedures or experience working with veterinary professionals such as veterinary technicians or assistants Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or equipment safely Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and address their concerns confidently Familiarity with pet care routines including pet sitting, kennel experience, and general animal care practices Basic understanding of dog training principles to assist in behavioral management during grooming sessions Physical stamina for long periods of standing, bending, and lifting in a fast-paced environment Join us in creating a positive experience for pets and their owners!
