Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Pet Groomer and unleash your passion for animal care and grooming! In this energetic role, you will provide professional grooming services that keep pets looking and feeling their best, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Your expertise in pet handling, grooming techniques, and animal care will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where animals feel safe and loved. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families. At this time, we are looking for an experienced Pet Groomer availble to work evening/night shifts and weekend days. Some morning shifts become available thorughout the week but vary on a week-to-week basis. Base pay starts at $12/hr up until you reach a higher pay via commission. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each pet's specific needs and breed standards Handle animals with care, ensuring proper restraint and safety during grooming procedures Assist with pet care routines such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, stations, and work areas to ensure hygiene standards are met Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions Support other team members with animal handling tasks or kennel duties as needed Follow safety protocols related to animal restraint and handling to prevent injuries or stress Skills Strong knowledge of pet grooming techniques for dogs and other small animals Experience with understanding canine behavior Background in veterinary assistance or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable Skilled in animal handling, restraint, and pet sitting to ensure animals' comfort and safety Ability to lift heavy objects such as grooming equipment or larger pets safely and efficiently Excellent customer service skills to engage pet owners positively Familiarity with kennel experience, heavy lifting, and general animal care practices Knowledge of veterinary experience or equine experience is a plus for diverse animal handling skills Join us to turn your love for animals into a rewarding career where every day is an opportunity to make pets look great and feel loved!
