Job Description
We are looking for a dependable and experienced horse person to join our barn team and help manage the daily care of a herd of approximately 38 horses. This role is centered around feeding, turnout, horse observation, and maintaining smooth day-to-day barn operations. The ideal candidate is confident handling horses independently, values safety and good horsemanship, and takes pride in keeping a clean, organized, and reliable barn environment. This is a supportive, team-oriented setting where reliability, attention to detail, and quality horse care are highly valued. Training and onboarding will be provided to ensure you feel comfortable with our routines and expectations. Schedule & Pay (Multiple Shifts Available)
Morning Shift:
6:30 AM - 10:30AM Evening Shift:
4:00 PM - 7:30PM Pay:
$16/hourPosition Type:
Independent Contractor Responsibilities Feed approximately 30 horses in both stall and pasture settings Turn horses out in the morning and bring them in during evening shifts Clean, refill, and maintain water sources Prepare grain and feed for upcoming shifts Perform general barn duties and assist with stall cleaning as needed Monitor horses for signs of illness or injury and report concerns promptly Maintain a clean, organized, and safe barn environment Qualifications Prior horse handling experience required (personal or professional) Ability to work independently and follow barn procedures safely Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail Strong communication skills and good judgment around horses Interest in continuing to develop horsemanship skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Must live within approximately 30-40 minutes of Simpsonville, KY (40067) To Apply Please email rfrcemployment@gmail.com with a summary of your horse experience, including: Previous equine-related work or hands-on experience Length of experience and typical responsibilities Approximate dates of experience Any knowledge of equine health, medications, or emergency care Applications without relevant horse experience may not be considered.Pay:
