Overnight Pet Care Specialist w/ Day Time & Weekend Need

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and flexible Overnight Pet Care Specialist to join our team with a potential need for daytime services. This role is ideal for someone with an adaptable schedule who can step in to cover services when our primary specialists are unavailable (due to time off, illness, or increased client demand). This is not a contractor 1099 position and you will be a W-2 employee of Sailor's Dog Walking & Pet Care, LLC. We are looking for someone who can become a member of our family and help us complete our mission of individualized and one-of-a-kind pet care.

Scheduling & Availability:

Primary need is for overnight pet sitting services, with additional daytime & weekend visits (8am-8pm) as needed This is an on-call / as-needed position, not a set weekly schedule We guarantee at least 10-16 hrs a week and additional hours are provided to dedicated individuals. Depending on client scheduling you may work outside of those hours, and this position will be considered on-call. There will be potential for additional hours during our busy season. We will provide as much notice as we can in advance of your scheduled services. Availability is needed for weekday, weekend, holiday, and overnight services Candidates must be dependable and willing to accept assignments with varying notice

Responsibilities :

Provide hard-working, attentive, professional, reliable, and compassionate care to pets in clients' homes Complete a minimum of 7 overnight services per month Be available to support morning, evening, weekend, and holiday visits as needed Maintain clear communication and reliability when accepting assignments Our clients depend on our services for the care and safety of their pets. Services provided by our specialists will include Dog Walks, Check-Ins, Cat Care, Day Visits, Specialty Services, and Overnight Care. There is potential for future services to also be included as we expand our service options as well as administrative work as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Must have access to a smartphone with reliable cellular service and be comfortable using pet care software Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Must pass a criminal background check prior to hire Must be willing to sign a non-compete and non-solicitation agreement We offer a gas reimbursement program for travel between client visits. A company vehicle may be available after successful completion of the probationary period.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required (or currently enrolled; exceptions considered case-by-case) Minimum 1 year of professional pet care experience OR 2+ years of personal pet care experience Experience as a vet tech, groomer, or trainer is strongly preferred Familiarity with pet care software (such as Time To Pet) is a plus, but not required

Hours & Compensation:

Hours will vary based on client demand and team coverage needs This role is best suited for someone looking for flexible, supplemental income with the opportunity for additional hours based on performance and availability

Training & Compensation:

All Pet Care Specialists begin with a probationary period (up to 3 months) to ensure training and performance expectations are met. Upon successful completion, employees are eligible for a raise based on performance metrics.

Overnight services:

$50 per night (paid per overnight service, not hourly) Overnight eligibility begins after successful completion of the probationary period or with management approval Additional pay incentives are offered for weekends and holidays
