Dog Walker and Pet Sitter (Indepenent Contractor) Clarksville, MD 21029 Up to $2,000 a month

Why whither away behind a computer screen when you could be spending your days with dogs in the fresh air? Seeking a puppy (and kitty) approved human for part time dog walking, pet sitting job with a growing, small, queer owned company in Howard County, Maryland. The right candidate will be ready to: Be active and outside (in almost all weather) with big dogs for large parts of your work day! The dogs are all sweet, ready to cuddle, and big. Up to 110 lbs. Walk, play, snuggle and communicate effectively with dogs and cats. Deliver basic training commands

Safely manage and monitor up to 3 dogs at a time on various leash types. Provide basic grooming services as required, such as brushing or bathing. Hang out with and care for cats including cleaning liter boxes. Communicate via text with pet guaurdians including updates, pics and videos. Perform up to 10 walk/visits a day, each approx 15 min apart from one another. Overnight petsit in a select group of vetted clients' homes. (ie-be there overnight with some degree of flexibility during the days). Administer medications as needed. Pass a Criminal and Sex Offender Registry background check. Provide consistent and reliable transportation. Including a valid drivers' license. Have a reliable cell phone. Experience A minimum of 1 year of dog and cat care experience

  • sit, wait, leave it. Being outside and physically active most of the day. Including lifting very heavy dogs in the event of an emergency. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Schedule Work begins in March. 2 full week days each week

But once decided, must be consistent. Approx 4 days of paid on the job training will be scheduled before beginning solo work.
Hours each day are:
8am-3pm. When schedule on an overnight, evening and night time work is required. Overnight pet sitting jobs scheduled as needed. Availability must include ability to do overnight jobs that are up to 14 days at a time (in nice houses).
  • Must be available May 13-May 18 for already an overnight job already on the books
  • Queer, trans, BIPOC, new job seekers and folks with a sense of humor are encouraged to apply.
High school students will be considered for summer positions. May-September. Drivers license is a requirement! Its just a lot of driving.
