About us Countryside Kennels is a small family owned and operated business in Owings, MD. We are professional and passionate and our goal is to provide a safe, clean, and fun-filled environment for both the pets in our care and our staff. We have a team of committed individuals who provide attention and TLC that mirrors the care that pets receive in a family setting. We are passionate about what we do and pour ourselves into the facility, the pets, the customers, and eachother.
Job Title:
Dog Bather/Grooming Asssistant Overview:
Join our team as a bather/grooming assistant where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and cleanliness of our furry clients. If you have a passion for animals and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, this position is perfect for you.
Note:
MUST be able to work Thursday-Monday, off
Tuesday and Wednesda Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, brush, and groom pets according to specific instructions and breed requirements
  • Handle and restrain pets safely and compassionately during grooming procedures
  • Clean and maintain grooming tools and equipment to ensure a sanitary environment
  • Blow dry, Brush out, nail trim/grind, experience is required. Further skills like scissoring/neatens is preferred, but can be taught on the job for the right person.
  • Monitor pets for any signs of health issues or abnormalities and report to the appropriate staff
  • Assist groomers by holding and supporting dogs on the table, brushing dogs out, nail trim/grind in addition to helping in bathing
  • This is a physically demanding job, must be able to lift 75+ pound dogs, hold them up, bathe, blow dry, and move products around.

The hours do fluctuate, less busy days will be shorter, busy days will be longer. Time can be supplemented with extra cleaning/help around the kennel. Our business is seasonal with the busiest times being holidays and weekends so availability is a must. This position provides and abundance of learning opportunities for extended grooming knowledge like pet clips and breed standards.
