In this vital role, you will be responsible for the daily care, enrichment, and well-being of animals across various habitats. You will also be leading the team under our Zoo Keeping Managers, previous leadership experience is mandatory! Your expertise in animal physiology and handling will ensure that each creature receives the highest standard of care. Duties Provide daily care and feeding routines tailored to each species, ensuring optimal health and nutrition Monitor animal behavior and health status, promptly identifying signs of illness or distress Maintain detailed records of animal health, dietary intake, and behavioral observations Support habitat maintenance through horticultural activities and environmental enrichment strategies Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques while minimizing stress and promoting natural behaviors Ensure compliance with environmental laws and zoo policies to uphold safety standards and conservation goals Experience Prior experience of leading a team of 5 or more people. Proven experience working as a zoo keeper or in a similar animal care role with a focus on a variety of reptile species including large snakes, large monitors, and crocodilians Hands-on experience with animal handling and restraint techniques Background in pet care or animal care that demonstrates compassion and attention to detail Skills in habitat management to support naturalistic environments Join us in making a meaningful difference by caring for animals that inspire curiosity and promote conservation!
