Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures Assess each pet's coat condition, skin health, and overall well-being to recommend appropriate grooming treatments or veterinary referrals if necessary Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in excellent condition Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences, provide advice on pet care, and address any questions or concerns Assist with pet handling during appointments, demonstrating patience and gentle techniques to reduce stress for anxious or nervous animals Support team members with dog training insights or basic veterinary experience when needed to ensure holistic animal care Qualifications Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of breed-specific cuts and styling techniques Knowledge of dog handling, animal restraint, and pet care best practices to ensure safety for pets and staff alike Ability to lift heavy objects safely—such as large dogs or equipment—demonstrating physical stamina and strength Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is a plus, showcasing your versatility in animal care environments
