Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our furry patients, and assisting with daily kennel operations. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with animals and contribute to their well-being in a professional setting. Prior experience in animal handling or veterinary care is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. The position requires a strong commitment to pet safety, comfort, and customer service. Duties Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and surrounding areas to maintain a hygienic environment Feed and water animals according to established schedules and protocols Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings to staff Assist with pet grooming, including bathing, brushing, and trimming as needed Handle animals safely during examinations, treatments, and procedures using proper restraint techniques Provide pet sitting services when required, ensuring animals are comfortable and cared for during their stay Maintain detailed records of animal care activities and observations Assist with inventory management of pet supplies and medications Skills Experience or training in dog training, pet grooming, or pet sitting is advantageous Veterinary technician or assistant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments Knowledge of animal care best practices and pet health needs Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting animals or supplies) Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in a veterinary environment Compassionate attitude toward animals and their owners, with a focus on providing comfort and care during stressful situations This role provides an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.
