Job Description

At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). Responsible for the development and implementation of training programs which include policies, procedures and programs which affect the delivery of the company's products and services. This position will be responsible for delivering training virtually and in person. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Works closely with business unit leaders from multiple departments to develop and administer training programs which meets regulatory requirements including but not limited to policies and procedures. Develop and administer training programs which include customer service, sales, referrals, external and internal problem resolution, computer training, etc. Create, revise, and review training content for virtual and in person trainings. Acts as a liaison with department heads to identify training needs for personnel and coordinate and administer training, if necessary. Actively researches and stays abreast of alternative methods of training to ensure effective and cost-efficient methods of training. Responsible for duties associated with the administration of the Banker Basics program for new hires. Coordinates and facilitates training associated with mergers and acquisitions. Assists with managing and administering the learning management system (BVS). Maintains the schedule for the training calendar and communicates with appropriate individuals when scheduling issues occur. Represents the bank and provides leadership in key community activities and committees.
Qualifications Education/Experience:
High school diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or Training related field strongly preferred. Minimum of 3+ years banking experience or related field. Prior experience building courses within Articulate strongly preferred. Experience with Zoom and/or other virtual communication platforms required. Training experience preferred. Experience with learning management systems preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the usage of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Skills:
Ability to create engaging content for virtual and in person classes to ensure employees can apply training concepts. Able to conduct public speaking in front of small and large groups. Excellent written and oral skills to clearly communicate with company personnel. Familiarity with traditional, modern, and virtual training methods, tools, and techniques. Adequate knowledge of policies and procedures and the respective state and federal laws and regulations governing departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment. High level of interpersonal skills to represent the company in a professional manner and deal effectively with personnel. Occasional travel required.
