PROFESSIONAL DOG GROOMER PET STYLIST

Bowman Animal Hospital and Cat Clinic, Inc. is excited to add a new Professional Dog Groomer to our team! We are a privately owned, full-service veterinary hospital and are looking for a new pet stylist who is patient, kind, and dedicated to taking care of pets. You will join a compassionate team who share in the vision of excellent patient care and superior customer service.

Pet Groomer Responsibilities and Duties:

Outstanding customer service and communication. Ability to discuss and understand client grooming preferences, offer regular updates, and meet quality standards for service and client satisfaction. Ability to work with clients, patients, and co-workers in a professional, friendly hospitable manner. Apply knowledge and skills in controlling and/or handling individual animal temperaments. Be patient and kind to all pets regardless of temperament. Must have prior knowledge and comfortability working with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Must have comprehensive understanding of grooming techniques and breed grooming standards. Ability to evaluate the overall condition of the pet and address any grooming concerns as well as bring any medical concerns to the attention of the staff veterinarian. Perform and complete bathing, drying, ear cleaning, pedicures, and grooming as requested by the client including clipping, hand scissoring, and dematting. Perform all general maintenance of grooming room; clean cages, tubs, grooming tables; vacuum floor; mop floor daily; empty trash. Be educated on and recommend retail products that would aid in home grooming care of pets. Possess the physical strength and stamina to groom, lift, and restrain patients. Ability to complete tasks effectively independently while also collaborating and contributing positively to the team. Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and great work ethic. Must provide own grooming equipment including scissors, clippers, blades, sharpening of equipment, bows and ribbons.

Experience:

Prior employment as a Professional Dog Groomer for at least 5 years, is required.
