Job Description
The Grooming Salon Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the grooming salon, ensuring exceptional pet care, outstanding customer service, and a productive, professional work environment. This position provides leadership to the grooming team while supporting business growth, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate daily salon operations to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality grooming services, and compliance with company standards. Lead, motivate, and supervise groomers, bathers, and support staff while fostering a positive and professional team culture. Partner with ownership in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing salon team members. Conduct employee coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action as needed to maintain high performance standards. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all pets in the salon by enforcing proper handling procedures and safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary salon environment that meets company policies and industry best practices. Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client questions, explaining grooming services, and accommodating special pet care requests whenever possible. Resolve customer concerns and service issues promptly and professionally to maintain strong client relationships and satisfaction. Communicate effectively with pet parents, virtual reception staff, and team members regarding appointments, grooming services, pet behavior, and special care instructions. Monitor salon schedules to maximize productivity, efficiency, and customer convenience. Manage inventory levels of grooming supplies, products, and equipment; place orders as needed and ensure proper storage and maintenance. Track and analyze salon performance metrics, including revenue, retail sales, customer satisfaction, appointment volume, and staff productivity. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, increase revenue, enhance client retention, and support overall business growth. Promote salon services, retail products, memberships, and special offers to increase customer engagement and sales. Support local marketing efforts, community outreach activities, rescue partnerships, and events that strengthen the salon's reputation and visibility. Maintain knowledge of current grooming techniques, breed standards, industry trends, and pet care best practices. Demonstrate expertise in canine coat types, grooming styles, and breed-specific grooming requirements, including accommodating customer preferences and special requests. Perform grooming services, including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, nail care, and related services, as needed to support salon operations. Coordinate monthly schedule and manage boarding staff Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Experience Minimum 5 years grooming experience Strong background in dog handling, and animal restraint techniques Familiarity with veterinary procedures and veterinary experience preferred Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is advantageous Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during busy shifts •
