Additionally, they are responsible for supervising the maintenance, cleaning, and care of the pet center. The Kennel Supervisor(s) reports to the General Manager. Primary Duties Animal Care Our priority is compassionate care for the animals as outlined in company procedures. Troubleshoot dog behavior issues and staff overseeing problems. Work with management/Professional Dog Trainers to resolve dog behavior issues. Monitor dog incident reports and escalate continual issues to management. Ensure all Pet Care Attendants follow pet care schedule daily for consistent care. Supervising Staff Performance Collaborate with Pet Care Attendants in planning daily duties and completion of all planning reports. Monitor Pet Care Attendants supervising dog daycare playgroups to ensure procedures are followed. Monitor Pet Care Attendants boarding, cat boarding to ensure procedures are properly followed and constructive feedback is provided as needed. Monitor pet care and cleaning paperwork. Maintain procedures for all kennel functions. Establish with manager key performance targets for key procedures and tasks. Assist in annual performance reviews for Pet Care Attendants. Training Pet Care Attendants Maintain staff training checklist in conjunction with our Kennel Trainer. Ensure regular checks on work conducted to ensure consistency and quality by all staff. Provide positive feedback & performance improvement suggestions for staff. Schedule group training meetings / classes no less than quarterly on dog management and other. Staff Administration Prepare weekly work schedules for Pet Care Attendants on a timely basis with General Manager. Adjust staffing schedule based on pet volumes as determined year-round. Assist in staff interviews with General Manager. Document recurring staff performance issues on proper forms and counsel staff as needed. Minimum Experience, Skills, Certification or Academic Background Required High school graduate or equivalent Excellent oral & good written communication skills Previous pet care work experience demonstrated dependability. 3+ years' pet care experience supervising and scheduling staff in a hospitality industry setting with 10 associates or more Self-motivated, independent worker with attention to detail Proven leadership and training skills Ability to work in a flexible, AM or PM supervisory role, any seven-days, in client-driven environment Good decision and critical thinking skills Good organization and planning skills Demonstrated flexibility and proven coping skills
