Job Description

We are hiring an Animal Care Technician I to join our Safety Assessment team in Reno, NV. This is an entry-level opportunity - no prior experience required. You'll receive hands-on training while supporting essential research activities and ensuring the highest standards of animal care. What You'll Do Provide humane care and daily support for animals Perform animal husbandry (feeding, cleaning, cage changing) Handle animals safely and with care Clean and sanitize animal areas and equipment Monitor animal health and record accurate data Maintain supplies and assist with facility upkeep Follow all SOPs, GLP guidelines, and safety protocols Learn and develop skills through structured training Schedule Training (first ~6 months): Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00
PM Post-training:
Tuesday-Saturday OR Sunday-Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Pay & Growth Starting pay: $19/hour Career advancement opportunities up to
Animal Care Technician V Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required) Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience with animals (personal or professional) Experience in physically demanding roles Basic computer skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Additional Requirements Comfortable performing physical tasks (lifting, standing, cleaning) Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or extra shifts as needed Ability to follow strict safety and compliance standards (GLP, SOP, IACUC) Ability to work under time constraints Why Join Us?
