Job Description

Senior Trainer (R26-12) The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany's RockefellerCollege seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill a Senior Trainer position within PDP'sDepartment of Temporary Assistance Training in Albany, NY.
Description of Duties:
Under direction of theDepartment Manager or designee, position provides leadership to professional education and training teams; delivers in-person classroom andvirtual classroom/online education and training programs and supports program and New York State (NYS) policy initiatives; as well as servesas master trainer and liaison to project sponsors. Duties include, but are not limited to: Delivering in-person classroomtraining throughout New York State, virtual classroom/online classroom training using e-learning/webinar technology, and technicalassistance programs. Participating in the planning and development of training delivery plans and curricula for a variety ofperformance-based training, including updating, maintaining, and developing instructional materials (print and digital) and performingresearch for and assisting in the design of curriculum, related materials, and visual aids. Completing assignments independentlyand within team settings. Providing coaching, mentoring, and leadership to training staff. Monitoring training deliveriesand materials to assure quality and conformance with project objectives. Conducting training needs assessments andinterpreting/using training evaluation data to revise training programs and delivery plans. Maintaining complete records oftraining programs, content, activities, and evaluations in accordance with procedures, as well as preparing routine reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or aninternationally recognized accrediting organization and a minimum of three years of experience delivering adult trainingprograms. Excellent writing, speaking, training delivery, presentation, group facilitation, and interpersonal communicationskills. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and in-person and virtual classroom/online adult training methods. Demonstrated ability to deliver training material creatively and in conformance with project objectives. Demonstrated abilityto successfully work under pressure with strong attention to details, as well as effectively work on multiple projects with competingpriorities/deadlines in shared staff resource setting. Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently as well as withinteams. Experience with leading project teams and planning and coordinating training activities. Experience coaching,motivating, or developing skills of staff and encouraging and promoting teamwork and positive interactions. Strong team andcustomer orientation. Working knowledge of the NYS social service delivery system and public welfare programs or experiencein the delivery of specific public welfare programs, such as Temporary Assistance, SNAP, Employment & Advancement Services, HEAP, and ChildSupport Enforcement, or the administrative/fair hearings process, welfare fraud investigations, and audit/quality improvementinitiatives. Experience using Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft products (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Edge,SharePoint, and Teams), and document and presentation templates. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive andequitable relationships within our diverse campus community. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity,access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Ability to work variabledays and work hours and travel regularly throughout NYS to deliver training and attend meetings, including travel to areas that may not beserved by public transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from acollege or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization, in Adult Education, Communications,English, Social Science, or related field. Five years of experience delivering training to adults in a related field. Experience using Webex, Zoom, or other e-learning/webinar technology. Experience working within a state or county socialservices agency or human services organization.

: Employment is with The ResearchFoundation for The State University of New York, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activityfor the University at Albany.
