Job Posting for Playgroup Walker - Hoochie Poochie West Are you a dog lover with a knack for teamwork and working outdoors? Hoochie Poochie West is looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic individuals to join our team as Playgroup Walkers!
About Us:
Hoochie Poochie West (formerly known as Hoochie Poochie Club) has been a cornerstone of the Upper West Side's dog-loving community for 15 years. We specialize in 3-hour outdoor playgroups, offering dogs the chance to explore public parks, socialize in off-leash dog runs, and enjoy an active, fulfilling day.
Position Details:
As a Playgroup Walker, you'll work as part of a small, tight-knit team to provide exceptional care for our canine clients.
You will:
Lead or assist with 3-hour outdoor playgroups, including walking through public parks and supervising off-leash play in dog runs. Ensure the safety, happiness, and wellbeing of all dogs in your care. Manage group dynamics during off-leash play, reinforcing good behavior and resolving conflicts when necessary. Communicate with fellow walkers and management to provide updates on group activities and individual dog behavior. Send fun, detailed updates and photos to clients about their dog's playgroup adventures.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience working with dogs in a professional or volunteer setting (preferred but not required). Comfort and confidence handling groups of dogs of all sizes and temperaments. A strong team player with excellent communication skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to handle the physical demands of 3+ hours of outdoor activity in all weather conditions. A positive, patient attitude and a love for working with animals.
