Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing high-quality services to our furry clients. This role involves working closely with animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their well-being, cleanliness, and comfort while maintaining a safe and organized facility. Duties Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by regularly cleaning and sanitizing spaces. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with dog bathing and nail trims as needed. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to keep all dogs and staff safe. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being. Participate in additional daycare duties when necessary, ensuring our facility and staff remain educated and up to date on any new studies and research related to our business. Engage in heavy lifting as needed for moving supplies or larger animals. Experience Candidates should possess a background that includes one or more of the following: Hands-on experience in kennel operations or animal handling environments. Familiarity with pet bathing or grooming. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Open to learning different techniques and approaches to a dogs behavior or pack behavior. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance.
