  • 1097 Bark Place is hiring a part time pet technician!
If you're a reliable, detailed oriented individual with a passion for animals & the ability to work quick on your feet, we may have the pawfect job for you! This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under pressure. Must have flexibility for some weekdays and holidays, with most hours scheduled on nights and weekends. Must be able to move freely and quickly; walking, running, and lifting 50+ lbs. Must be able to operate disinfecting machine and maintain high standard of sanitization and cleaning protocols. Pet care techs will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the pets at our facility with responsibilities including:
  • General care such as feeding, walking, and cleaning up after our pets
  • Use equipment and cleaning prodcuts to disinfect the facility and guest rooms, and maintain our high levels of cleanliness
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of pet food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
  • Bathing, nail trims, and ensuring animals stay clean for the duration of their stay
  • Monitor and report important information about the animals conditions, behavior and habits
  • Thoroughly engage with and exercise dogs during play, and monitor behavior during daily play groups
  • Perform other duties as assigned that may assist the Doctor, Receptionist and Veterinarian Technicians in the smooth flow and operation of the clinic
  • Interact with clients in a friendly, professional manner
  • Comfortably use computer software for tasks relating to daycare and boarding
  • Maintain a germ free overall environment (cleanliness of the entire facility including play floor, boarding suites, laundry/staff area, and outside grounds.
)
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience in caring for animals is required
  • Passion to help and care for animals
  • Being detail oriented is a must, as well as the ability to multi-task successfully in a fast pace environment. (Our working interview will allow you the chance to exercise these skills before making a committment to join the team.)
  • Must have reliable transportation to & from work, without any restrictions.
  • Ability to keep up with highest standards of cleanliness
  • Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Due to high volumes & to avoid disrupting the daily routine for our furry guests, we discourage walk-in inquiries.
