Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Provide professional pet grooming services to clients' pets, including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards or client preferences
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide recommendations based on the pet's needs
- Handle and restrain pets as necessary during grooming procedures
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets during grooming and report any concerns to the pet owner or veterinarian
Experience:
- Previous experience as a pet groomer (two year minimum) &/or completion of a formal pet grooming program is preferred
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Familiarity with grooming tools and equipment, such as clippers, shears, brushes, and shampoos
- Experience in handling and restraining animals safely and comfortably
- Strong customer service skills to interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner
Skills:
- Pet grooming expertise in various species, including dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Knowledge of veterinary technician procedures is beneficial
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for pet owners
- Ability to handle animal restraint safely and effectively during grooming procedures
