Dog Daycare Shift Lead

Position Description :

Cubby's Canine Castle is searching for a Shift Lead to guide our team in daily operations. This position is a key role in our organization, focusing on managing all aspects of care to our canines and providing excellent customer service to our pet parents. We need a lead who can ensure accountability, organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. The Shift Lead will oversee the work flow of staff in multiple departments and ensure that all our customers, whether canine or human, are receiving excellent care. This is a hands on position requiring you to be physically active and on your feet for long durations.

Cubby's Canine Castle opened in 2006 and is a full service doggie daycare offering daycare, boarding, training, and grooming. We have multiple large indoor and outdoor play yards. Our facility strives on providing maximum enjoyment for our dogs, as well as ensuring safety and security. Our facility allows for group play, in an unleashed setting. Staff enforces proper manners and play in order to provide an enjoyable time for all of our daycare dogs.

Responsibilities:

As Shift Lead, you will oversee the daily work flow of staff responsibilities in multiple departments and ensure that all our dogs and pet parents are receiving excellent care. This is a hands on position requiring you to be physically active and on your feet for long durations. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Staff Management :

Supervise staff to ensure that all services are delivered to meet/exceed Cubby's standards and customer expectations. Assign and ensure tasks are completed to standard. Uphold accountability of team members to policies, procedures and timelines. Coach and assist in team members in service delivery and skill development.

Animal Care :

Ensure health and welfare of animals by ensuring all areas of facility are clean and sanitary. Observe and assist in managing playgroups. Keep detailed records and notes of any potential health and/or safety issues. Feed and medicate daycare and boarding dogs, following the instructions from clients.

Customer Service and Presentation :

Serve as the face of Cubby's Canine Castle for our pet parents. Offer conversations with pet parents on their dog's behavior and activities during their stay. Respond to new client inquiries. Answer client questions regarding reservations, appointments, billing, and other issues. Strong customer service skills are a must!

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working in Pet Care Industry or other similar hospitality, fast-paced industry role (2 years minimum)
• Supervisor or Management Experience (2 years minimum)
• Demonstrate leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
• Available some holidays & at least 1 weekend day per week
• Open to being a hands-on team member in any area when needed
• Enjoy being physically active as role does require lots of time on your feet, moving around with the dogs
• Able to lift at least 35 pounds
• Comfortable navigating internal software systems, google drive, MS Office, etc.
• Organized and systematic
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to anticipate obstacles and proactively address them
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for use with both staff and clients Benefits
