Kennel Technician

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel
• Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
• Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor or business owner
• Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
• Administer medications as directed by the owner
• Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, including answering questions and addressing concerns
• Answer phones and make reservations, along with checking in/out pets

Requirements:

• Will have a set schedule each week, so must be available Mon-Sun.
• Work all weekends and all holidays
• Must be drug-free, drama-free, dependable, have reliable transportation and a great work ethic
• Hours are split into two shifts, morning and afternoon with about a 3-4hr break in between.
• Previous experience in pet care or related field such as pet grooming, veterinary assistant, or dog training is preferred
• Strong knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques preferred, as we are a facility that boards a handful of reactive dogs. We also have long-term fosters we care for daily that have varying behavioral issues
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with pet owners and team members
• Willingness to learn and follow all safety protocols related to animal handling and sanitation procedures
