Pawmetto Lifeline located at 1275 Bower Parkway, Columbia, SC is a non-profit rescue organization that strives towards the goal of a no-kill community and state through adoption, pet retention, rescue partnerships, and medical services. The employees are the passion within the organization and work hard to help every animal in the community and believe that no pet should die simply because they are homeless. Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Duties include providing routine daily care for animals, pet loading and unloading, pet transportation, ensure facility/kennel cleanliness, properly operate and maintain equipment, observing pets appearance for physical condition; cleaning and disinfecting the pet suites as often as necessary; medicating pets as needed; assist with the feeding and watering of the pets in our care; bathing pets as needed; actively monitor pets during group activities and see to their safety and well-being; assist any other team member in the facility as needed; properly document the behavior of our pets during their stay. The successful candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Necessary Skills:
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Must have stamina to work for 8 hours. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, bend, and reach; handle cats without fear; work with a variety of cleaning agents; work in an environment with changes in climate and weather extremes. Highly motivated with an interest in helping animals. Please realize this position does require you to work five full days during the week and/or weekend and on holidays as needed. Our shifts are from 7:30am - 4:30pm / 8:30am - 5:30pm / 9:30-6:30pm pending the needs of the organization and staffing with a one-hour unpaid lunch. All new hires are subject to a 90-day probation period.
