Duties Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs Handle dogs safely and confidently, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety for both pets and staff Assess each pet's coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming procedures Maintain a clean, organized workspace by sanitizing tools and grooming stations regularly Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their preferences and provide expert advice on pet care and grooming maintenance Assist with dog training activities or basic behavioral assessments when needed to support overall pet well-being Support veterinary staff by providing animal handling assistance during medical procedures or examinations when required Qualifications Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of completed grooming styles Knowledge of dog training techniques, animal handling, and restraint methods to ensure safe grooming sessions Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable for understanding pet health indicators Familiarity with pet grooming tools, equipment, and sanitation protocols Ability to lift heavy objects such as tubs or large dogs safely and comfortably Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus for understanding animal behavior in different settings Strong animal handling skills across various breeds and sizes, including equine experience is advantageous Join us in creating happy, healthy pets through expert grooming!
