Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our furry clients. As a Kennel Attendant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest standard of care while maintaining cleanliness and organization. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and exercising dogs. Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas by regularly cleaning and sanitizing spaces. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Handle animals safely using proper techniques. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being. Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and appointment scheduling when necessary. Qualifications Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred (kennel experience is a plus). Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior is desirable. Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is beneficial but not required. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (up to 50 pounds). Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is an advantage. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends if required. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
