Canine Caretaker

Position Overview:

Support a working dog-boarding facility with two role tiers: Farmhand (Kennel Tech — Starting Role) and Homestead Host (Front Desk — Earned Role) All employees start as Farmhands. Homestead Host shifts are earned based on reliability, accuracy, professionalism, and readiness to work with clients.

Farmhand Responsibilities:

(Starting Role) Feed, water, and monitor dogs using SOPs Rotate and supervise dogs in yards Clean/disinfect kennels, dishes, bedding, and facility Follow daily routines and opening/closing procedures Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness Report any health, behavior, or facility concerns

Homestead Host Responsibilities:

(Earned Role) Manage check-in/check-out and client interactions Review vaccines, waivers, feeding, and medications Answer phones/messages and assist clients Handle reservations, payments, and account updates Maintain a clean, welcoming front area Assigned only after Farmhand competency is proven.

Requirements:

Weekend availability (at least one shift) Comfortable with all dog sizes/temperaments Able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather Reliable, adaptable, and able to follow procedures Comfortable with cleaning and physical work Open to feedback and learning Available for some major holidays Adaptable to growth and changes as we are in our first year of business

Schedule & Pay:

Part-time (Full-time possible) Weekend/holiday availability required Pay based on experience and role Opening shifts: ~7:30am-3pm Some closing shifts available
