Dog Groomer

Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality grooming services. This role involves not only grooming pets but also ensuring their overall well-being and comfort during the grooming process. The Pet Groomer will work closely with pet owners to understand their needs and preferences, creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, clipping, and styling of dogs and other pets according to breed standards and owner specifications. Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming procedures to ensure their safety and comfort. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming options, pet care, and any observed health issues. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, including tools and equipment, to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff. Assist in basic animal care tasks such as feeding, walking, or monitoring pets as needed. Collaborate with veterinary staff if necessary to address any health concerns observed during grooming sessions. Keep accurate records of services provided, including any special instructions or notes about the pet's behavior or health. Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary technician or assistant experience is preferred. Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and care; previous kennel or pet sitting experience is a plus. Knowledge of dog training techniques is beneficial for managing different temperaments during grooming sessions. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or equipment. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed in a fast-paced environment.
