Job Description

Pet Care Specialist - Dog Daycare & Boarding (Barking Oaks Pet Resort) If you love dogs and want to be part of a fast-paced, high-standard environment where your work actually matters, this is your opportunity. Barking Oaks Pet Resort is a growing luxury pet care facility in Central Texas, built on one expectation: everything is clean, safe, structured, and done right. With over 10,000 square feet indoors, 15,000 square feet of outdoor play yards, and a fourth location opening, we are building something much bigger than a typical dog daycare, and we are looking for people who want to grow with it. This is a hands-on, physically active role where your day will be split between maintaining a spotless facility and working directly with dogs in daycare and boarding. A large part of this job is cleaning, because cleanliness is directly tied to safety, health, and the overall experience we provide. You will be responsible for keeping kennels, floors, bowls, and all dog areas at a high standard where odor control and presentation are non-negotiable. At the same time, you will be actively supervising dogs, running structured playgroups, and ensuring every dog is handled safely and correctly. This is not a slow environment, and you will be expected to move with urgency, stay organized, and work as a team to keep operations running smoothly, especially during busy periods. In this role, you will gain real, hands-on experience in dog behavior, group management, and safety. You will learn how to read dogs, prevent issues before they happen, and operate inside a structured system that prioritizes control and consistency. For those who take the job seriously and perform at a high level, there is clear opportunity to grow into leadership roles such as Shift Leader or Supervisor as the company continues to expand. We are looking for individuals who do not avoid hard work, who take pride in doing things right, and who can perform in a fast-moving environment without losing attention to detail. You should be reliable, communicate clearly, and be comfortable in a role that requires you to be on your feet, working both indoors and outdoors, and handling multiple responsibilities throughout your shift. This position is not for someone looking for an easy or slow-paced job, and it is not for someone who simply wants to play with dogs without structure or responsibility. It is for someone who wants to learn, improve, and be part of a team that operates at a higher level than the industry standard. If you are serious about working hard, developing real skills, and being part of a growing company with clear expectations, we encourage you to apply.
