Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each pet's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques to ensure a stress-free grooming experience Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work area to uphold health and safety standards Assess each pet's coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing pet care or veterinary referrals if necessary Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming procedures, special needs, or concerns Assist with basic animal handling tasks such as pet sitting or kennel care when needed Support veterinary staff with animal handling or veterinary technician tasks if required, including light veterinary assistance or animal restraint Experience Previous experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred Familiarity with dog training techniques and veterinary procedures enhances your ability to manage different breeds and temperaments effectively Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, kennels, or pet care facilities is advantageous Knowledge of animal restraint methods and pet care best practices ensures safe interactions with animals of all sizes and temperaments Strong customer service skills are essential for building trust with pet owners and providing a positive experience Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for handling larger dogs or equipment Prior experience with veterinary assistant roles or veterinary technician work can be beneficial for understanding animal health needs Embark on a fulfilling career where your love for animals makes a difference every day!
