Entry Level Kennel Attendant

Job Overview Join our team as an Entry Level Kennel Attendant and become a vital part of providing exceptional care for our furry friends! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for animals in our kennel facility. You'll engage in daily pet care routines, assist with animal handling, and support the overall well-being of pets under our care. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in animal handling, veterinary assistance, pet grooming, and customer service—all while working in a lively, pet-loving environment. This position is for our 11am-8pm shift, sharing weekends and holidays. Responsibilities Provide attentive pet care by feeding, watering, and cleaning kennels regularly to ensure a hygienic environment. Assist with dog handling and animal restraint to ensure safety during grooming or daily routines. Support pet grooming activities such as bathing, brushing, and basic hygiene maintenance to keep animals comfortable and healthy. Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, including feeding schedules, health observations, and behavior notes. Assist veterinary staff with basic tasks such as administering medications or monitoring animals during procedures. Engage with pet owners during drop-off and pick-up times to provide excellent customer service and address any questions or concerns. Skills Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain dogs and other pets. We use the fear free approach. Experience or interest in pet grooming techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving animals or supplies. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Familiarity with animal care standards and kennel operations. Basic understanding of pet sitting practices and general animal behavior.
