Kennel Attendant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility. You will assist with the daily operations of the kennel, ensuring that all pets receive the attention, exercise, and grooming they need to thrive. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a desire to create a safe and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennel areas, including cleaning cages and common spaces. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing pets. Ensure all animals are properly restrained during handling to ensure safety. Interact with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service. Assist in training or socializing dogs as necessary. Skills Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus. Strong skills in animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Proficiency in pet care practices including feeding, grooming, and general health monitoring. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
