In this role, you will travel to clients' homes, providing professional grooming services that keep pets looking and feeling their best. Duties Travel to clients' homes or designated locations to perform pet grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, and styling. Safely handle dogs and other small animals during grooming procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Use animal restraint techniques effectively to manage pets of various sizes and temperaments. Assess pet health during grooming sessions; recognize signs that may require veterinary attention or veterinary technician consultation. Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming environment within the mobile unit, including tools and equipment. Communicate with pet owners about grooming needs, special care instructions, and pet behavior observations. Assist with pet care tasks such as light veterinary assistance or animal handling when necessary, leveraging veterinary experience or kennel background. Skills Proven experience in pet grooming, animal handling, or kennel work with a strong understanding of pet care best practices. Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling skills to ensure safe grooming sessions. Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable for recognizing health issues. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment setup or moving animals safely. Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their concerns professionally. Familiarity with animal restraint methods and pet sitting responsibilities to ensure smooth grooming sessions. Strong communication skills combined with a positive attitude to create a welcoming environment for pets and clients alike.
