Animal Rescue Adoption Center Manager Priceless Pets City of Industry, CA Job Details Full-time $41,600 - $56,551 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Qualifications Kennel experience Volunteer management Supervising experience Team management Dog handling Decision making Organizational skills Animal welfare Full Job Description Job Overview The Adoption Center Manager oversees daily adoption center operations and leads the adoption process for animals in our care. This role manages both paid staff and volunteers while ensuring excellent animal care, positive adopter experiences, and compliance with organizational standards. The ideal candidate is a confident leader who works well independently and is deeply committed to animal welfare. Key Responsibilities Oversee the adoption process from intake through placement, ensuring appropriate matches Interview adopters, review applications, and make adoption decisions aligned with rescue policies Educate adopters on animal care, behavior, training, and responsible ownership Manage daily center operations including scheduling, intakes, adoptions, and recordkeeping Maintain accurate animal, adopter, and medical records Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure animals are healthy and adoption-ready Supervise, train, schedule, and support paid staff and volunteers Serve as primary on-site contact for visitor, adopter, volunteer and staff questions Ensure compliance with animal welfare, safety standards, and organizational policies Support adoption promotions and community outreach efforts Qualifications & Requirements Experience using safe, humane animal handling techniques for dogs and cats with diverse behavioral needs, including fearful, anxious, or high-energy animals (required) Demonstrated staff and/or volunteer management experience Strong customer service and communication skills Flexible availability, including weekends Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to lift, carry, and safely handle animals and supplies Passion for animal welfare and rescue mission Familiarity with ShelterLuv or similar record-management software (preferred)
