Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Dog Trainer and play a vital role in shaping well-behaved, confident, and happy dogs! You'll gain hands-on experience in dog training techniques, animal handling, and pet care while contributing to the positive development of our canine clients. Responsibilities Assist lead trainers in implementing training programs tailored to individual dogs' needs, including obedience, socialization, and behavioral modification. Handle dogs safely during training sessions and daily activities, ensuring proper restraint and control. Support veterinary staff with animal handling tasks, including feeding, grooming, and basic health assessments. Maintain a clean and organized training environment, including kennels and exercise areas. Help with pet care duties such as feeding, bathing, and administering medications under supervision. Engage with pet owners by providing updates on training progress and offering basic pet care advice. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to equipment setup or moving supplies around the facility. Experience Previous experience in dog training or animal handling is highly desirable. Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles provides valuable insight into animal health and care procedures. Familiarity with veterinary environments or kennel management enhances your ability to support both animals and staff effectively. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Passion for animal welfare combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new training techniques and animal care practices.
