Animal Care is part of the production team at JAX and work requires attention to detail, working in a highly controlled clean room environment, fast paced that provides continuous physical movement.Responsibilities include:
New team members undergo a 12-week paid training program with classroom and on-the-job training. Learn all aspects of mouse husbandry and animal science and genetics. Employees will learn to maintain JAX mice and monitor animal health and welfare. Maintain a sanitary environment. Prepare animals for shipping. Accurately record detailed and organized data.Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have a minimum of HS diploma or GED and prior work experience. Employment will require successful completion of references, background check and pre-employment physical. Candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds. A basic knowledge of computer skills preferred. Successful completion of Primary Animal Care Training and successful completion of the 90-day introductory period is required for advancement. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays may be required.
