This vital role combines animal care expertise with program management skills to create a safe, nurturing environment for cats in need. You will coordinate daily operations, oversee volunteer and staff activities, and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained. Duties Oversee daily operations of the cat sanctuary, ensuring a clean, safe, and enriching environment for all feline residents Coordinate and supervise volunteer and staff schedules, providing training on animal handling, restraint, and care procedures Develop and implement enrichment programs to promote mental stimulation and physical activity for cats Manage intake and adoption processes, including health assessments and behavioral evaluations Maintain detailed records of medical treatments, behavioral notes, and daily observations Collaborate with veterinary professionals to schedule routine health checks, vaccinations, and emergency care when needed Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to animal handling, heavy lifting, and facility maintenance Experience Proven experience in animal handling with a focus on cats; pet care or animal rescue background preferred Knowledge of veterinary procedures and experience working with veterinary technicians or assistants is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to train others in dog training, pet grooming, pet sitting or similar pet care skills Prior experience managing or coordinating animal shelter or kennel operations is advantageous Strong customer service skills to engage with adopters, volunteers, and community partners effectively Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform routine kennel or enclosure cleaning tasks Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and behavior management strategies Join us in creating a loving sanctuary where every cat receives the care they deserve!
