This role involves training dogs in our Pacific Beach San Diego facility according to our training curriculum and providing Kennel tech services during training shifts. Potential for dispatch training and/or specialized training sessions and group classes. This position will require training repetitions and enforcement of skills learned, teaching dogs new training skills, performing kennel tech work, following animal safety SOPs, scheduling and attending evaluations to book new clients, making sales calls and providing excellent customer service to dog owners. Initial shift needed is the opening shift (7am-11am) but there is a possibility of more hours and up to full time. Hourly wage is $18-$22 with FREE access to Trainer U ($1500 value) that can be attended on your on time (in person or on line). Responsibilities Dog training according to pre set curriculum Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and cleaning kennels Assist with dog handling, restraint, and basic training as needed Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in kennels and treatment areas Monitor animal behavior and report any health concerns or unusual activity via Slack Assist with other pet care services Ensure safety protocols are followed during animal handling and restraint Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and visitors Heavy lifting of animals or supplies may be required to ensure proper care and facility maintenance Requirements Prior training experience and certification Experience in veterinary technician work, pet grooming, pet sitting, or kennel operations preferred Knowledge of dog training, animal handling, restraint techniques, and general animal care Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately of various sizes and temperaments Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods Animal restraint skills and experience working with animals in a clinical or kennel setting are highly desirable Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work well within a team environment This role is vital in ensuring the well-being of our animal patients while supporting the overall operations of our veterinary practice.
