Job Description

About The Hub The Hub is a revolutionary "gym for dogs" located in one of the Bay Area's premier outdoor shopping centers (City Center Bishop Ranch - Google it!). We're popularizing the idea that dog training is a lifelong wellness practice—just like yoga, strength training, or therapy. Our membership model gives dog guardians unlimited access to positive reinforcement training classes, enrichment-based playgroups, dog-friendly co-working, and events like doggy escape rooms, puppy yoga, sound baths, and "yappy hours." In just over a year, we've built a thriving and loyal community—and we're just getting started. We're looking for a Professional Dog Trainer to join our team. Why This Role is Unique Whether you're a seasoned Head Trainer or an experienced trainer ready to step up, this is not your typical facility job. Here, you'll benefit from: A centralized, high-end facility: Train in a custom-built, 3,000 sqft, climate-controlled space—no more driving from client to client or worrying about weather cancellations.
A steady stream of clients:
Our membership model and prime location mean busy days with back-to-back sessions and classes, minimizing downtime and maximizing earning potential.
No marketing or overhead required:
Forget the costs of building a website, running ads, or managing your own social media. We handle the client acquisition so you can focus on training.
Controlled training environment:
Support reactive or fearful dogs in a safe, structured setting that sets both dog and guardian up for success.
Ready-to-use curriculum with creative freedom:
Access class and private session plans that save you time, while still contributing new ideas and innovative formats to keep our community engaged. Collaborative, mission-driven culture: Join a team committed to elevating the training profession through science-backed methods, lifelong learning, and digital innovation. Direct impact on the future of dog training: Help shape our programs and contribute insights that influence the development of a nationwide training and wellness app. Key Responsibilities You'll lead and contribute to every part of our training operation, including: Training & Teaching Teach private lessons and engaging group classes (from puppy skills to dog sports and behavior modification). Create individualized training plans for clients, tailoring recommendations to dog behavior and family goals. Support drop-off enrichment and training programs. Curriculum & Program Development Help evolve our curriculum focused on wellness, enrichment, and evidence-based behavior science. Use cutting-edge tools (video capture, touchscreen tech, AI note-taking) to streamline communication and learning. Community Engagement Represent The Hub at signature events (dog speed dating, themed puppy yoga, training challenges, etc.). Collaborate with founders to continually improve processes and enhance client experience.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
2+ years of experience as a professional dog trainer Strong foundation in pure positive reinforcement techniques. Skilled in teaching private sessions, group classes, and/or drop-off programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Comfort with technology, including client management apps and video tools. Passion for continued education in canine behavior science.
Preferred:
Fear-Free Certified Creative, collaborative mindset with a strong sense of initiative. Benefits & Perks Competitive pay, commensurate with experience and leadership responsibilities. Access to industry-leading tools and technology. Opportunities for advancement and continuing education. On-the-job training and mentorship. Discounted services and staff enrichment programs. A supportive team culture at a fast-growing startup.
Job Types:

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
Benefits:
Flexible schedule Professional development assistance Application Question(s): What about The Hub or this position excites you the most? What does positive reinforcement mean to you, and why do you use it in your training practice?
