Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling and training, with a focus on positive reinforcement techniques. This role involves working closely with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, helping them to learn obedience, socialization skills, and specific commands. The Dog Trainer will also provide guidance to pet owners on effective training methods and behavior management. Duties Develop and implement training programs tailored to individual dogs' needs. Conduct group classes and one-on-one sessions, focusing on obedience training, behavior modification, and socialization. Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors in dogs. Assess each dog's behavior and progress, adjusting training methods as necessary. Provide pet owners with education on proper handling, care, and training techniques. Maintain accurate records of each dog's training progress and any behavioral issues. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving equipment or large dog crates. Collaborate with veterinary professionals when needed for health-related concerns. Qualifications Proven experience in dog handling and training; certifications in dog training or behavior are a plus. Strong skills in animal restraint and handling; experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is beneficial. Background in pet care or equine handling is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the role. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
