This is a perfect job for highschool seniors or college students. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support to our dog only kennel by maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable kennels, assisting with daily animal care routines, and ensuring each pet receives the attention and handling they deserve. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for pets and their owners alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, dog behavior and pet grooming while making a positive impact on the lives of animals and their families. Duties Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to uphold health standards and prevent the spread of illness Assist with feeding, watering, and administering medications under supervision, ensuring each pet's specific needs are met Handle dogs using proper body language and techniques to ensure their comfort and safety Observe animals closely for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly to Kennel Manager Provide specialized care by walking dogs, playing with animals, and offering companionship to reduce stress and promote well-being Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, treatments, and behaviors to ensure continuity of care. Experience Previous kennel or animal care experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Familiarity with dog training techniques and behavior is a plus Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting demonstrates a strong understanding of animal handling and care routines Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling supplies or assisting with larger animals is essential Excellent customer service skills are valued for communicating effectively with pet owners and team members Embark on a rewarding career where your enthusiasm for animals makes a difference every day!
