Job Description:
Woof Creek Kennel is an owner operated Dog kennel in South Overland Park seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Kennel Managing Attendant to oversee all operational functions of our kennel, which can accommodate up to 30 dogs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of dog behavior and psychology, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic environment. This role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about animal care and can work independently. The starting training pay is $15 per hour, with opportunities for rapid increases based on your ability to contribute value. Exceptional performance may lead to earning potential exceeding $30 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the kennel, ensuring the well-being of all dogs. Learn and remember the names and behaviors of all dogs in the kennel. Monitor pack dynamics and understand dog behavior to prevent conflicts. Handle stressful situations calmly and effectively, including potential dog altercations. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kennel. Communicate effectively with customers during drop-off and pick-up times. Work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision. Take the initiative to research dog behavior and psychology.
Qualifications:
Proven experience working with dogs in a kennel or similar environment. Strong understanding of dog behavior, psychology, and pack dynamics. Ability to recognize signs of potential conflict among dogs through body language. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Capable of handling stressful situations and making quick decisions. Physically able to manage dogs in high-stress scenarios. Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic; prefers to stay active rather than sedentary. Self-motivated with a strong desire to continuously educate themselves in dog psychology and

Must be reliable and punctual, with a commitment to the safety and well-being of all dogs in the kennel. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Show compassion and understanding towards all animals and their owners. Maintain a positive attitude and foster a welcoming environment for customers and dogs alike.
Pay:
$15.00 - $30.00 per hour
