Weekend Dog HandlerTide Pool Pet ServicesGloucester, MA Schedule:
Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00
PM Pay:
Based on experience About the Position Tide Pool Pet Services is seeking an experienced, reliable Dog Handler to join our team on weekends. This is an independent position requiring confidence in handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments while working alone for the majority of the shift. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, responsible, and comfortable making decisions without direct supervision. Responsibilities Safely transport dogs to and from scheduled appointments using your own vehicle or a company vehicle Pick up and drop off dogs throughout the day Handle multiple dogs safely and confidently Monitor dog behavior and ensure the safety of all dogs in your care Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and equipment Communicate professionally with clients when necessary Follow company protocols and safety procedures at all times Complete assigned routes and responsibilities independently Requirements Minimum 2 years of professional dog handling, daycare, boarding, training, or pet care experience Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable transportation and willingness to use your own vehicle if needed Comfortable driving with dogs in the vehicle Ability to work independently without direct supervision Strong understanding of canine body language and behavior Ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes and energy levels Dependable, punctual, and professional Preferred Qualifications Experience with pack management and group dog handling Dog training experience Pet First Aid/CPR certification Why Join Tide Pool Pet Services?
