Job Requirements:

Pet experience Driver's license & 18 years old Insured vehicle & health insurance Must live within 15 minutes of our office in Bowie, MD 20715 Pet First Aid & CPR certified App use Be detail-oriented, follow directions & be pro-active Self-learner And more!

Duties:

• Walk dogs & visit pets at their homes on a regular basis, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Provide safe exercise and mental stimulation for dogs during walks & pets during visits
• Follow specific instructions provided by owners regarding their pets' needs and preferences
• Keep accurate records of each visit/walk, including distance, duration, and any notable observations
• Monitor pets for signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the business & owner
• Clean up after pets during walks/visits and dispose of waste properly
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with clients and their pets
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while handling dogs/pets

Skills:

• Animal care: Knowledge of basic animal care practices and understanding of dog behavior
• Customer service: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide exceptional customer service to clients

• Pocket Pets:

  Experience working with small caged pets or other animals (preferred but not required)
• Dog training: Basic knowledge of dog training techniques and ability to reinforce positive behaviors during walks
• Pet sitting: Experience caring for pets in the absence of their owners, including feeding, watering, and administering medication (if necessary)
• Dog handling: Ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments during walks
• Pet care: Understanding of the needs of different types of pets and ability to provide appropriate care

• Veterinary:

  Familiarity with common health issues in dogs and ability to recognize signs of illness or injury
• Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects such as bags of dog food or crates (if necessary)
