Kennel Assistant

We're Hiring! Part-Time Kennel Assistant and Full-Time Kennel Manager?? 12809 S Bugai Road, Cedar, MI Wiggle Butts and Waggin' Tails is a small individualized dog daycare and boarding facility located just outside of Traverse City, MI. We provide top quality care for dogs in a clean, safe and engaging environment. We prioritize enrichment, playtime, and lots of pets.

Hours:

Up to 20 hours per week for part time, 40 hours a week for full time, weekday AND weekend shifts Hours will vary and can start as early as 6am or end as late as 5:30pm Must be able to work during the day

Compensation:

Pay rate will reflect skills and qualifications

What You'll Do:

Engage and play with dogs in both daycare and boarding environments both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Provide food, water, and medication as needed Perform cleaning duties to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming kennel This includes, but is not limited to, picking up poop, vacuuming dog hair, sanitizing kennels & play areas, washing dishes, cleaning up accidents or messes Observe and monitor dog behavior Take dogs on trail walks (weather permitting) Perform exit baths Work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team Manage arriving and departing dogs Kennel Manager will also be responsible for supervising staff and running enrichment activities.

What We're Looking For:

A true love for dogs of all breeds and sizes Dependable, self-motivated, hard worker, quick leaner, and able to work with minimal supervision Comfortable with physical activity and cleaning tasks Prior experience working with dogs is required This can include pet sitting, training, grooming, etc. Someone who understands this is a physically demanding job that can be dirty and loud, but also full of the happiest and most loving dogs in Traverse City and surrounding areas. Kennel manager must have background in dog related field, preferably dog training or vet tech If you enjoy being around dogs and thrive in a caring, active environment, we'd love to hear from you!
