Full Job Description Loyal Dog Club Dog Walker Job Description Overview:
Loyal Dog Club is currently hiring Dog Walkers with weekly availability during business hours, 8:30am-4:30pm, to provide daily walks and care for dogs located in Royal Oak and surrounding areas. This position requires excellent time management skills and organizational skills. In addition, Dog Walkers must be reliable, dependable, and trustworthy. Dog Walkers are able to answer all inquiries regarding each service they provided. Therefore, communication skills and maintaining a thorough record of every service are a must. As a Dog Walker, you are responsible for the safety and well-being of every dog you care for. You provide each dog with love and attention and are responsible for reporting any abnormal behavior to the appropriate contact person. Proper disposal of dog waste and cleaning up any accidents (as needed) is mandatory while dog(s) are in your care. Dog Walkers may be required to walk more than one dog at a time and must be capable of maintaining control over all dogs on walks. Prior experience working with dogs and understanding of dog behavior, basic dog care, and first aid is essential.

Requirements:
18+ years old Reliable transportation & valid driver's license Excellent time management and organizational skills Reliable, trustworthy, and dependable Able to walk several miles in one day Comfortable walking multiple dogs at once and comfortable with all breeds and sizes Ensure the security of owner's homes at the beginning and the end of each service Complete each service for the booked amount of time Safely transport dogs if required Remove and properly dispose of dog waste Install dog walking software provided by LDC and properly use corresponding app on your smartphone Provide owners with pictures and service details through the required app at the end of each service Refresh water and wipe paws at the end of each service Pursue veterinary attention if needed and notify both owner and employer Participate as an active team member and provide additional assistance to other Dog Walkers as needed Keep track of mileage traveled and submit to employer
Pay:
The starting rate is $13.75/hour with a 3% increase in pay following a 30 day job trial period. Dog walkers are eligible for raises on an annual basis. Any services completed outside of normal business hours (Monday-Friday after 4:30pm and weekends) are paid time and a half. Mileage for necessary travel between scheduled appointments is reimbursed.
