Dog Daze Team Lead

Dog Daze Playcare is seeking a dependable, experienced, and compassionate Team Lead to join our team! This leadership role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about dog behavior, safety, and team development. This is a fun and rewarding position — but it's also a serious responsibility. We care for live animals who depend on us every day, and we are looking for someone who takes that responsibility to heart. As a Team Lead, you will oversee daily operations on your shift, support staff, and ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care. You will lead by example, step in wherever needed, and help maintain a structured, clean, and positive environment. Key Responsibilities Lead daily shift operations and serve as the go-to person for staff Supervise structured group play and monitor dog behavior closely Identify, redirect, and discourage inappropriate behavior safely and effectively Prepare food and water; administer medications as directed Provide basic grooming services (baths, nail trims) Train and mentor new dog handlers Open and/or close the facility Maintain detailed communication regarding injuries or health concerns Maintain a clean and organized facility And yes — pick up poop (a must!) What We're Looking For 1+ years of professional animal care experience preferred Strong understanding of dog behavior and pack management Comfortable holding team members accountable while staying positive and professional Self-motivated and confident working independently Reliable and consistently punctual (our dogs can't be put on hold!) Open availability highly preferred Genuine desire to continue learning about dog behavior and training Willingness to go the extra mile for the health and happiness of every pup Physical Requirements Ability to stand and be active for 4-6 hours at a time Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, snow, heat) Strong awareness and peripheral vision for safe group supervision Why This Role Matters At Dog Daze Playcare, you'll build relationships with each dog, learn their unique personalities, and play a direct role in creating a safe, structured, and loving environment.
