In this role, you will work with dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavioral backgrounds, teaching obedience, confidence, impulse control, and real-world reliability. As a trainer, you will coach both dogs and owners, ensuring lasting success through education, accountability, and ongoing support. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about canine behavior, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Responsibilities Conduct private lessons, group classes, and day training follow-up sessions using Sit Means Sit training methods. Evaluate each dog's temperament, behavior, and training goals to develop customized training plans. Teach foundational obedience commands, off-leash reliability, socialization skills, and behavior modification techniques. Coach clients on proper leash handling, communication, and training practices to ensure continued success at home. Build strong relationships with clients by providing exceptional customer service and ongoing support throughout the training process. Safely handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments while maintaining a positive and structured training environment. Monitor and document training progress, behavioral improvements, and client outcomes. Assist with kennel operations, daily animal care, feeding, exercise, and enrichment activities for dogs enrolled in training programs. Support community outreach efforts, demonstrations, and events that promote the Sit Means Sit brand and training philosophy. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility that reflects the company's standards of professionalism and animal welfare. QualificationsRequired Passion for working with dogs and helping owners achieve their training goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence to handle dogs of varying sizes, energy levels, and behavioral challenges. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn Sit Means Sit training techniques. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift dogs or equipment as needed throughout the day. Preferred Previous professional dog handling experience. Experience in animal care, kennel management, veterinary settings, daycare, boarding, or pet services. Background in customer service, sales, coaching, teaching, or public speaking.
